Library Survey Raffle Winner Announced

During the Spring 2018 semester, Skeen Library asked for your input and feedback by filling out our Library Services Survey. 127 members of the NMT community responded.

The winner of the raffle for the coffee mug was Gayatri Gautam, a graduate student in the Chemistry department. Congratulations, Gayatri!

Look for additional findings and insights from the survey in future newsletters.

Resource Highlight: New Computers at Skeen!

As you come in to the library for some delicious coffee (free with your own mug!), you may notice that we've replaced the computers at the cloverleaf work stations (located on each floor). Our Technical Services Librarian, Chandra Reed, and Systems Specialist, Pete Martinez, have been working throughout the summer to get these new computers set up. Click here to get a full listing of the software available on our computers.

Event Highlight: Engage the World

Skeen Library's Engage the World is a monthly series in which experts give presentations on their areas of specialization. Topics span the past, present and future: medieval history, podcasting, cartography, and much more. The goal behind this series is to encourage the NMT community to engage with the larger world--to learn more about topics you know little about, or to meet an expert in a field that you're interested in. You can also network with presenters and identify other Techies that have similar interests. It's a great opportunity to learn something new, meet like-minded people, and enjoy some light refreshments at the same time. Come join us!

Our first Engage the World presentation of the 2018-2019 academic year will take place on Wednesday, September 5th at 3pm in the Tripp Room. Timothy Graham, Director of the Institute for Medieval Studies and Distinguished Professor at the University of New Mexico, will discuss the materials that went into producing medieval manuscripts. Light refreshments will be provided.

If there is a topic you'd be interested in presenting on or would like to see featured, please let us know.
