How do I organize my literature review?
Like any academic paper, a literature review will have three basic components:
- Introduction: introduce the topic of the literature review, including the review's organizational pattern or central theme (are you discussing the research chronologically, thematically, or methodologically? Be sure to tell your reader.)
- Body: the meat of the literature review. This is where you will discuss your sources.
- Conclusion: present what you have learned from reviewing the literature so far. How might you contribute something new to the field?
