What is Interlibrary Loan (ILL)?
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) allows NMT faculty, staff, and students to borrow materials from other libraries that we don't have in ours. (Other libraries can also borrow from us.) If there's another library that has what you need, you can make a request through our ILL department and we'll see if we can get it for you.
What services make up ILL?
ILL services include interlibrary loan and document delivery:
- Interlibrary loan allows all NMT faculty, staff, students, and researchers with an active 900# (Banner ID) to request materials from another library.
- Document delivery is an additional service that we offer to faculty, staff, and researchers. If you find an item that we have in our physical or digital collection, you can place an ILL request and we will locate it for you and make it available (physical items will be left at the Front Desk for you to pick up; digital items will be scanned and emailed to you). This service is not available to students.
This is a work in progress and will be updated periodically. If there is some basic information you feel may be missing from this guide please email the ILL department with ILL Guide Suggestion as the subject.
