Engage the World

Information on Skeen Library's Engage the World series

Overview

In September 2021, Amaris Ketcham discussed camping sites across New Mexico, her creative writing process, and shared some of her poetry. She also provided tips and tricks for those new to camping and how to get the most out of the experience.

Weekends in the New Mexican Wilderness: Camping to Learn

In this presentation, Amaris Feland Ketcham will discuss her creative research practices as well as her writing on campgrounds across the state. In addition to sharing some poems about local flora and fauna from the Poetic Inventory of the Sandia Mountains, Amaris will discuss a popular guide book that came out this year, Best Tent Camping: New Mexico. She will discuss some information about the book and how it works, share fun facts uncovered while researching the book, and answer questions about camping around New Mexico.
