In February 2018, Engage the World attendees were introduced to the world of curanderismo, the practice of traditional healing in Mexico and the American Southwest, by Albuquerque residents Diana Garcia and Nathan Lyons.

Introduction to Curanderismo

Learn about the origins and basic elements of traditional healing concepts with roots to the old world and new. Some core topics include limpias (energetic cleansings), mal de ojo (evil eye), envidia (envy), and susto (fright).
